Programs and Services

PhilNet-RDI rural development and democratization (RDD) programs and services are divided into three broad categories, namely

  1. asset reform
  2. sustainable agriculture/crop diversification
  3. rural industry/enterprise development.

In essence, PhilNet-RDI tries to provide its sector-partner with an alternative way towards self-reliance. That is, from direct access and control of asset (current primary focus is on land and water) to viable and sustainable agricultural production up to the formation of an economic enterprise. Its intervention activities however do not come in a stepladder approach. Rather, it engages in any of these activities depending upon the objective situation in the area.

What is common to all three categories is its social infrastructure building/development component (such as the formation of a cooperative). The formation of this cooperative is primarily designed to uphold the interest of the sector-partner and to sustain the gains achieved by such interventions. PhilNet-RDI’s interventions are generally in areas where problem factors can be influenced.
